Qualification and Experience Requirements: Chairman & Managing Director

1. Qualification:

  • Essential:
    • Engineering Graduate, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, Post Graduate, or Graduate with an MBA/PGDIM from a leading institute.

2. Experience:

  • Required Experience:
    • At least 5 years of cumulative experience during the last 10 years in one or more of the following areas:
      • Finance
      • Business Development
      • Production
      • Operations
      • Marketing
    • Experience should be within large organizations of repute.
  • Desirable Experience:
    • Exposure to Project Management and implementation of large projects.
    • Experience in the Mining, Steel, Infrastructure sectors, or related sectors would be advantageous.

Pay Scale and Eligibility Criteria

1. Pay Scale:

For Central Public Sector Enterprises:

  • Internal Candidates:
    • Minimum: Rs. 45,000
    • Maximum: Rs. 82,500 (IDA scale)
    • Residual Service Requirement: 2 years as of the date of vacancy, considering the age of superannuation (60 years).
  • External Candidates:
    • Minimum: Rs. 45,000
    • Maximum: Rs. 82,500 (IDA scale)
    • Residual Service Requirement: 3 years as of the date of vacancy, considering the age of superannuation (60 years).

Eligible Scales of Pay:

  • IDA (Pre 01/01/1992): Rs. 8,250 – Rs. 9,250
  • IDA (Post 01/01/1992): Rs. 11,500 – Rs. 13,500
  • IDA (Post 01/01/1997): Rs. 23,750 – Rs. 28,550
  • IDA (Post 01/01/2007): Rs. 62,000 – Rs. 80,000
  • IDA (Post 01/01/2017): Rs. 1,50,000 – Rs. 3,00,000
  • CDA (Pre-revised): Rs. 22,400 – Rs. 24,500
  • CDA (Post 01/01/2006): Rs. 67,000 – Rs. 79,000
  • CDA (Level 15): Rs. 1,82,200 – Rs. 2,24,100

2. Eligibility Criteria:

For Central Government/All India Services/Autonomous Bodies:

  • Should be holding a post of Additional Secretary in the Government of India or carrying an equivalent scale of pay on a substantive basis as of the date of application.

For Public Sector Bank/Financial Institutions:

  • Should be at the Board level for at least one year as of the date of application.

For Armed Forces of the Union:

  • Should be holding a post of Lt. General in the Army or an equivalent rank in the Navy/Air Force on the date of application.

For State Public Sector Enterprises/Private Sector:

  • Should be working at a Board level position on the date of application.

Note: The minimum length of service required in the eligible scale is one year for internal candidates and two years for others as of the date of vacancy.

    • CMDs/MDs/Functional Directors in Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs): Submit through the concerned Administrative Ministry.
    • Below Board Level in CPSEs: Submit through the concerned CPSE.
    • CMDs/MDs/Functional Directors in State Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs): Submit through the concerned Administrative Secretary and Cadre Controlling Authority, if applicable.
    • Private Sector: Submit directly to the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB).
  2. Documents Required for Private Sector Applicants:
    • Annual Reports: Provide the Annual Reports of the company for the three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised. Include URLs or copies.
    • Company Listing Status: Provide documentary proof if the company is listed (include URLs or copies).
    • Board Level Evidence: Provide evidence of working at the Board level.
