- Career Progression: There are promotion prospects up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I, which corresponds to Level 8 of the Defence Pay Matrix, with a salary ranging from ₹47,600 to ₹1,51,100, plus MSP of ₹5,200 per month and DA as applicable.
- Commissioned Officer Opportunities: Exceptional performers who qualify the prescribed examinations and clear the Services Selection Boards have opportunities for promotion to commissioned officer ranks.
3. Perquisites:
- Training and Service Benefits: Throughout the training period and service, sailors are provided with books, reading materials, uniforms, food, and accommodation as per their entitlement.

5. Indian Navy Recruitment 2024 : Selection Process
Selection Process for SSR (Med Asst) 02/2024 Batch
Stage I: Shortlisting
- Criteria: Shortlisting of candidates will be based on the aggregate percentage obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the qualifying 10+2 examination.
- State-wise Cut-offs: The cut-off marks will vary from state to state, as vacancies are allocated on a state-wise basis.
- Priority Based on DoB: In cases where candidates have similar percentages, the shortlisting will prioritize candidates with an earlier Date of Birth (DoB).
Stage II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Written Examination, and Recruitment Medical Examination
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
- Criteria: Qualifying in the PFT is mandatory.
- Standards:
- 1.6 Km run in 6 minutes and 30 seconds.
- 20 squats (Baithak).
- 15 pushups.
- 15 bent-knee situps.
- Note: Candidates undergo the PFT at their own risk.
- Written Examination:
- Format: Objective-type, bilingual (English & Hindi), with 100 questions divided into four sections: English, Science, Biology, and General Awareness/Reasoning Ability (25 marks each).
- Standard: 10+2 level.
- Duration: 1 hour.
- Passing Criteria: Candidates must pass in all sections as well as in aggregate. The Indian Navy reserves the right to set the pass marks.
- Recruitment Medical Examination:
- Eligibility: Candidates who qualify in the PFT will undergo a Recruitment Medical Examination.

- Results: Published on candidates’ dashboards on the official website by late October or early November 2024.
- Pre-Enrolment Medical: Conducted at INS Chilka. Final induction depends on passing this medical examination.
Medical Standards
- Examination by Military Doctors: Medical standards are set by current regulations applicable to Navy entry.
- Physical Standards: Minimum height is 157 cm, with a minimum chest expansion of 5 cm.
- Tattoos: Only permitted on the inner face of forearms and the reverse side of the palm/back of the hand.
- Health Requirements: Candidates must be in good physical and mental health, free from any disease or disability.
- Visual Standards:
- Uncorrected Vision: 6/12, 6/12.
- Corrected Vision: 6/6, 6/6.
- Colour Perception: CP Pass.

- Application Process:

- Call Up Letters:
- Call Up Letters and Admit Cards for Stage II (PFT, Written Examination, and Recruitment Medical Examination) will be issued tentatively by the end of September 2024 or early October 2024. - Examination Centre:
- The examination centre allocated for Stage II cannot be changed once assigned.
- Document Verification:
