3. OSOU Recruitment 2024 : Eligibility Criteria
1. Professor
- Retired: Must be below 70 years of age and have UGC eligibility.
- Eligibility A: Ph.D. degree with 10+ years of teaching/research experience and a minimum of 10 high-quality research publications or a research score of 120 as per UGC norms.
- Eligibility B: Outstanding professional with a Ph.D. and significant contributions to the field, supported by evidence and 10 years of experience.
2. Associate Professor
- Retired: Must be below 70 years of age and have UGC eligibility.
- Eligibility: Ph.D. degree, Master’s with at least 55%, 8 years of experience, 7 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and a research score of 75 as per UGC norms.
3. Assistant Professor (Guest Faculty)
- Eligibility: Master’s degree with 55%, NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. as per UGC regulations. Retired and in-service candidates below 70 years may apply. For those with a Ph.D., the degree must be awarded in a regular mode with required research papers and presentations, or from a top 500 global university.
- Age Limit: Below 60 years.
4. OSOU Recruitment 2024 : Honorarium Details
Honorarium for OSOU Recruitment 2024
- Retired Professor: ₹50,000 per month for at least 35 classes and other assigned duties.
- Retired Associate Professor: ₹40,000 per month for at least 35 classes and other assigned duties.
- Assistant Professor (Guest Faculty):
- With Ph.D.: ₹1,000 per class, up to a maximum of ₹60,000 per month.
- Without Ph.D.: ₹750 per class, up to a maximum of ₹45,000 per month.
For Assistant Professors, if the monthly emolument exceeds ₹40,000 (without Ph.D.) or ₹45,000 (with Ph.D.), prior approval from the Vice-Chancellor is required. No additional allowances or financial benefits are provided.
5. OSOU Recruitment 2024 : Selection Process
- Application Submission: Online or offline.
- Screening: Applications will be screened, and candidates will be shortlisted.
- Interview Letter: Shortlisted candidates will receive an interview letter.
- Interview: Conducted by the Approved Selection Committee.

Interview Process
- Top Candidates: For a single post, top 20 candidates will be interviewed; for two posts, top 30 candidates; and for three posts, top 40 candidates.
- Interview Criteria:
Candidates must score at least 50% in the interview to be included in the merit list.

Eligible candidates must bring the following documents:
- Original Certificates and Mark Sheets: Supporting academic qualifications and claims, along with a set of self-attested photocopies.
- Experience Certificate: Proof of relevant work experience.
- Additional Documents: Any other relevant documents the candidate wishes to present.
- For Retired Personnel: Last pay certificate and proof of the last position or designation held immediately before retirement.
6. OSOU Recruitment 2024 : Terms and Conditions
Terms and Conditions
- No Claim to Regular Post: Engagement does not guarantee a right to claim the post if advertised in the future.
- Initial Term: Engagement is for one year, extendable annually up to five years, subject to satisfactory performance and maximum age limit.
- Performance Review: Continuation of engagement depends on satisfactory performance in quarterly reviews.
- For Retired Personnel: Can continue up to 70 years of age, subject to periodic performance reviews.
- Termination: The university may terminate the engagement at any time without providing a reason.
- Interview: The university reserves the right to conduct or cancel the interview at any time.
- Legal Jurisdiction: Any legal disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction as per rules.
- No TA/DA: No travel or dearness allowances will be paid for attending the interview.
- Duties: Candidates must perform duties as assigned by the authority.
- Relaxation: A 5% relaxation (i.e., 50% instead of 55%) at Master’s degree level is provided for SC/ST and differently-abled candidates. Relaxations as per UGC norms apply.
