a) DRDO DGRE Recruitment 2024 Age Limit as on 03.10.2024
Age Limit: Applicants must be no more than 63 years old as of the closing date for receipt of applications.
b) DRDO DGRE Recruitment 2024 Educational Qualification
a. Retirement Background: Applicants must have retired from Central/State Governments, PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, Universities, or Government R&D Organizations, with practical knowledge and adequate experience in a relevant field (as specified in the Terms of Reference for each post code).
b. Preference: Preference will be given to those with experience working with DRDO.
c. Skills: Candidates should have effective communication skills (both oral and written) and strong interpersonal skills, with a flair for in-depth examination of their areas of work.
d. Service Record: The applicant must have an unblemished service record.
e. Gap Requirement: There must be a minimum gap of fifteen (15) days between retirement and the appointment as a Consultant.
f. Pay Level: The applicant must have retired at the prescribed Pay Level as mentioned in the notification.
4. DRDO DGRE Recruitment 2024 : Appointment Procedure and Documentation Requirements
Procedure for Appointment
- Application Review:
- Applications received by the deadline will first be checked by a local committee to ensure they meet basic eligibility and Terms of Reference (TOR).
- A Screening Committee will then review and shortlist applicants based on eligibility criteria, TOR, GFR provisions, and relevant guidelines.
- Merit List:
- The Screening Committee will recommend a merit-based panel, including wait-listed candidates, which will be valid for six months.
- Offer of Appointment:
- The Directorate of Personnel, DRDO HQ will issue the appointment offer after approval from the Competent Authority. This will include the Terms & Conditions of engagement.
- Required Documents:
- Upon receiving the offer, the Consultant must submit:
- Letter of Consent
- Signed Contract Agreement (in the provided format)
- Signed Non-Disclosure Agreement and Ethics & Integrity Clause
- An undertaking to accept the Terms & Conditions of the offer.
- Upon receiving the offer, the Consultant must submit:
- Pre-Appointment Checks:
- Before signing the Contract Agreement, the employing office will verify documents such as PPO, Medical Fitness Certificate, and Police Verification.
- Contract Signing:
- The selected candidate must sign the Contract Agreement and Non-Disclosure Agreement (three copies each) on a Rs. 500/- Non-Judicial Stamp Paper with the employing officer.

6. DRDO DGRE Recruitment 2024 : Terms and Conditions
Terms and Conditions
- Scope of Work:
- The Consultant will perform tasks as outlined in the Terms of Reference (TOR) provided in Annexure-A, B, and C.
- Nature of Engagement:
- Engagement is not considered re-employment.
- No statutory, legal, or financial powers will be granted.
- The role is temporary and non-official with no benefits or potential for regularization.
- Duration and Extension:
- Initial engagement is for one year, extendable by another year based on the Competent Authority’s decision.
- Conduct and Conflict of Interest:
- The Consultant must act in the interests of the Ministry of Defence/Department of Defence R&D/DRDO.
- Must disclose any conflicts of interest and avoid activities outside the assignment’s scope.
- Confidentiality:
- Data and information cannot be shared with external agencies without prior approval.
- No publication of articles based on the assignment data without prior approval.
- Intellectual Property:
- All intellectual property rights for data and deliverables belong to DRDO.
- Record Handover:
- All records related to the assignment must be handed over before the contract expires or before final payment.
- Termination and Resignation:
- DRDO may terminate the contract with a one-week notice for unsatisfactory performance, lack of integrity, or unauthorized absence.
- The Consultant can resign with a one-month notice. The Competent Authority may require a payment of one month’s remuneration in lieu of notice.
- Dispute Resolution:
- Disputes or interpretations of the contract terms will be settled by DG (HR), DRDO. Their decision is final.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Periodic performance and deliverables will be monitored as per the relevant guidelines.
