Eligibility Criteria for Bank’s Medical Officer (BMO) on Contract Basis

  1. Educational Qualification:
    • MBBS degree in allopathic medicine from a university recognized by the Medical Council of India.
    • Candidates with a post-graduate degree in General Medicine are also eligible.
  2. Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Practitioner in any hospital or clinic.
  3. Computer Skills:
    • Good working knowledge of computers/laptops for online dispensary functions.
  4. Proximity:
    • Preferably own a dispensary or residence within 3 to 5 kilometers from the Bank’s dispensary at the specified location.
  5. Remuneration:
    • Fixed remuneration based on actual duty hours performed, all-inclusive.
  6. Contract Duration:
    • Initial engagement for five years, renewable up to the age of 70 years, subject to performance review.
  7. Remuneration and Duty Hours:
    • Details of remuneration and duty hours will be provided separately.

Selection Procedure for Bank’s Medical Officer (BMO) on Contract Basis

  1. Interview:
    • NABARD will conduct interviews to select a panel of Medical Officers on a contract basis with fixed hourly remuneration.
  2. Eligibility Standards:
    • The Bank reserves the right to raise minimum eligibility standards to limit the number of candidates for the interview. The Bank’s decision in this regard will be final, and correspondence will not be entertained with applicants who are not called for the interview.
  3. Medical Fitness:
    • Shortlisted candidates will need to undergo medical tests or submit a Medical Fitness Certificate as per prescribed norms before final engagement as BMO.
  4. Final Appointment:
    • Appointment is subject to being found medically fit and accepting the Terms and Conditions as per Annexure – I.
  5. Note:
    • In case of any dispute, the English version of the terms will prevail.

6. NABARD Recruitment 2024 : Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions for Engagement of Bank’s Medical Officer (BMO) on Contract Basis

  1. Contract Duration:
    • Initial engagement for a period of five years. This may be reduced if necessary to ensure the maximum age limit of 70 years is maintained.
    • Extension of the contract may be done in blocks of five years by mutual agreement.
    • Renewal beyond the age of 70 years, up to 75 years, may be considered annually based on mutual agreement, review, and medical fitness.
  2. Termination:
    • Either party may terminate the contract with one month’s notice.
  3. Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Provide medical attention and advice to staff.
    • Arrange for a substitute doctor at personal cost if unable to attend the dispensary.
    • Notify the Bank before taking leave and provide details of the substitute doctor. The substitute doctor must have adequate computer knowledge.
    • Ensure the substitute doctor is aware of the Bank’s medical guidelines.
    • Be available “on call” during Bank holidays for emergencies and arrange for a substitute doctor if absent for more than two consecutive days.
  4. Confidentiality:
    • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding NABARD’s affairs and its constituents. Information should not be disclosed unless required by judicial authority or instructed by a superior officer.
  5. Professional Conduct:
    • Avoid promoting any specific medicine brand, specialist doctor, chemist, laboratory, or hospital inappropriately.
  6. Office Requirements:
    • Attend the Bank’s dispensary or other locations on non-working days if required due to office exigencies.
    • No residential accommodation will be provided by the Bank.
  7. Contract Termination:
    • The Bank reserves the right to terminate the contract immediately without notice if there is a breach of terms or if performance is deemed unsatisfactory.
  8. Identity Card:
    • The identity card issued upon joining must be surrendered upon completion or termination of the contract.
