2. NSC Recruitment 2024 : Eligibility
To apply offline for NSC 2024, candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria discussed in this section:
a) NSC Recruitment 2024 Age Limit as on 24.09.2024
Age Limit:
- Maximum Age: Not more than 25 years as of 24/09/2024.
- Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable according to the Government of India rules, which may vary based on category and other factors.
b) NSC Recruitment 2024 Educational Qualification
Essential Qualifications:
- Educational Qualification: Higher Secondary or equivalent.
- Typing Test Requirement: Candidates must pass a typing test of 10 minutes duration with a minimum typing speed of:
- 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) in English, or
- 30 w.p.m. in Hindi.
- Typing Speed Conversion: The typing speed should correspond to 10500 key depressions per hour (KDPH) for English and 9000 KDPH for Hindi.
- Certification: The typing test must be supported by a typing certificate from a Government-recognized institution.
3. NSC Recruitment 2024 : Job requirement and Pay Scale
Job Requirements:
- Typing and dispatch of daks (official documents).
- Issuing of tickets.
- Photocopying and maintenance of files.
- Preparation and processing of bills.
- Making entries in various registers and ledgers.
- Handling purchase and store management.
- Compiling facts and figures for reports and statements in the computer.
- Cash handling and cheque writing as needed.
- Performing any other tasks assigned by superiors from time to time.
Compensation:
- Basic Pay: Pay Matrix Level-2, Rs. 19,900 – Rs. 63,200 per month with a basic pay of Rs. 19,900.
- Emoluments: Usual allowances as per Government of India rules.
- Total Approximate Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 38,483 as of the current date.

Application Fee:
- Mode of Payment: The fee must be paid in the form of a Demand Draft from a Nationalized Bank, drawn in favor of “National Science Centre,” payable at New Delhi.
- Submission: The Demand Draft should be attached with the original application form.
- Non-Refundable: The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances and will not be adjusted against any other examination or selection.
5. NSC Recruitment 2024 : Selection Process
Selection Procedure:
The recruitment process will be conducted in two stages:
- Written Test (100 Marks):
- Format:
- 20 marks for descriptive questions.
- 80 marks for objective type questions.
- Negative Marking: There is no negative marking.
- Format:
- Typing Test (English/Hindi):
- Eligibility: Candidates who pass the Written Test will be called for the Typing Test.
- Format: The Typing Test will be conducted on a computer and is a qualifying test.
6. NSC Recruitment 2024 : Syllabus of Written Test
Syllabus of Written Test:
The Written Test will cover the following subjects:
- Reasoning Test – 20 marks
- Quantitative Aptitude – 30 marks
- General English – 30 marks
- Descriptive – 20 marks
Merit List Calculation:
- The merit list will be prepared by assigning a weightage of:
- 60% to the objective type questions.
- 40% to the descriptive type questions.
7. NSC Recruitment 2024 : Terms & Conditions
General Terms & Conditions:
- Application Form: Applications must be submitted using the prescribed form and not on plain paper.
- Submission: Completed applications, along with attested copies of all relevant certificates and testimonials, should be sent to:

- Deadline: The application must reach the above address on or before 24/09/2024.
- Current Employees: Candidates currently working in Government, Semi-Government, Public Sector Undertakings, or autonomous organizations must apply through the proper channel.
- Travel Allowance: Only outstation SC/ST/PWD candidates who are called for the Written Test & Typing Test / Written Test & Trade Test will be reimbursed single 2nd class Railway/Bus Fare (both ways) by the shortest route on production of proof of travel.
- Eligibility: Candidates must ensure they meet all requisite requirements, including prescribed qualifications, age, and experience. If it is discovered at any stage of recruitment that a candidate does not fulfill the requisite criteria, their candidature or appointment will be cancelled immediately without assigning any reasons.
- Canvassing: Canvassing in any form or bringing any form of influence, political or otherwise, will result in disqualification.
- Cancellation: The Competent Authority at National Science Centre, Delhi, reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process without providing any reasons.
- Late Applications: Applications received after the due date due to postal delays or other reasons will not be entertained.
- Enquiries: Personal or interim enquiries will not be entertained. Mere possession of the requisite qualifications does not entitle candidates to be called for the Written Test or Trade Test. Selection will be based on the recruitment process.
