Pay Scale
- Level-10 of the Pay Matrix:
- Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500 Per Month
Note: Upon initial appointment, the following pay and allowances are applicable:
- Basic Pay: Rs. 56,100
- Special Security Allowance: 20% of the basic pay
- Other Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, and Government contribution towards NPS, as per Central Government rules.

5. NTRO Recruitment 2024 : Application Fees
Application Fees
a.) Fee Amount:
- Candidates (except SC/ST/PwBD/Female candidates) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty only).
b.) Payment Mode:
- The fee must be paid online through the application software only.
- Processing charges towards remittance of the application fee and service tax, if applicable, will be borne by the candidate.
- Payment through any other mode will not be accepted.
c.) Refund Policy:
- The fee, once paid, is non-refundable under any circumstances and cannot be held in reserve for any other examination or selection process.
6. NTRO Recruitment 2024 : Selection Process
Selection Procedures
a.) Shortlisting Candidates:
- Eligible registered candidates will be shortlisted based on their valid GATE Score in the respective subject/field.
- The shortlisting ratio will be 1:25 (i.e., 25 candidates for every vacancy), provided there are sufficient eligible candidates to meet this ratio.
b.) Stage I – Written Examination:
- Shortlisted candidates must appear for the Written Examination.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- 50% for Unreserved category candidates.
- 40% for Reserved category candidates.
c.) Stage II – Interview:
- Candidates who qualify in Stage I based on merit and reservation policy will be called for the interview in the ratio of 1:4 (number of vacancies to candidates).
d.) Interview Scoring:
- The interview will be scored out of a maximum of 50 marks.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- 50% for Unreserved category candidates.
- 40% for Reserved category candidates.
e.) Final Selection:
Final selection will be based on the following criteria:
- Meeting the prescribed essential eligibility criteria.
- Consolidated merit list prepared with the following weightage:
- 50% weightage for GATE Score.
- 30% weightage for marks obtained in Stage I (Written Examination).
- 20% weightage for marks obtained in Stage II (Interview).
f.) Medical Standards:
- Appointment to the post of Scientist ‘B’ in NTRO is subject to meeting medical standards/fitness certified by a Medical Board.
- Color Vision Deficiency is a criterion for being deemed ‘UNFIT’ for appointment.
g.) Verification of Information:

h.) Order of Merit:
