Selection Process

1.) Selection Criteria

The selection process will include the following parameters, with weightages assigned as follows:

Breakup of 10 marks for Higher Qualification:

a.) 5 marks will be awarded for a Post-Graduation (PG) degree (e.g., MD/MS).

  • The PG qualification in specific medical fields like Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Family Medicine, General Medicine, Pediatrics, Pathology, Psychiatry, Radiology, etc. will be eligible for these additional 5 marks for the post of Contract Medical Officer – Field Duty.
  • Other PG qualifications like Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine, Microbiology, Pharmacology, etc. will not be eligible for additional 5 marks.

b.) An additional 5 marks will be given for a higher qualification acquired in the relevant field after Post-Graduation (e.g., M.Ch/ DM).

3.) Qualifying Marks in the Interview:

  • For OBC candidates, the qualifying marks in the interview shall be 18 marks.

Finalization of Merit List

a.) Merit List Preparation:

  • Candidates who qualify in the interview will be listed in the Merit List.
  • Offers of appointment will be made based on the candidates’ relative rank in the Merit List, calculated from the sum total of marks scored in qualification and interview.

b.) Tie-Breaking Criteria:

  • In the event of a tie in total marks between two candidates, the one with higher interview marks will be considered senior.
  • If the interview marks are also equal, the older candidate in age will be given preference.

c.) Medical Examination:

  • Appointment of selected candidates will be contingent upon their successful completion of the company’s Medical Examination as per the standards outlined in the ONGC Medical Examination of Employees Rules, 1996. More details are available on the ONGC’s website at www.ongcindia.com.

1.) Walk-In Interview Details

  • Candidates meeting the qualifications are invited to attend the Walk-In Interview at the specified venue and time as per the schedule below:

a.) Candidates need to download the application form (Annexure-I) in Official Pdf, fill it out, and affix a recent passport-size photograph.

b.) Bring the originals and one set of photocopies of the following documents to the interview:

  • Duly filled and signed application form (Annexure-I).
  • Photo identity proof (PAN Card, Aadhaar card, Passport, Driving License, Voter ID).
  • Passport-size photograph.
  • Class 10th Board Certificate with Date of Birth (no other proof will be accepted).
  • Consolidated Marksheet of MBBS Degree.
  • MBBS Degree.
  • Mark sheets and Degree for MD/MS (if applicable).
  • Internship Completion Certificate.
  • Valid Registration Certificate with MCI or relevant state council.
  • OBC (NCL) Certificate (in central government format).
  • PwBD Certificate (if applicable, as per RPwBD Act 2016).
  • Proof of Higher Qualification (if applicable) with mark sheets and Degree/Diploma certificate.
  • Experience Certificate (if applicable).
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer (if applicable).
  • Proof of change of name (if applicable).

3.) Important Instructions

  • Latecomers will not be allowed to participate in the Walk-In Interview.
  • The interview will begin immediately after registration.
  • Candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility criteria before attending the interview; failure to do so may result in rejection at any stage of the process, even after selection.
