3. RRC NCR Recruitment 2024 : Eligibility Criteria

a) RRC NCR Recruitment 2024 Educational Qualification as on 14.09.2024.

Essential Qualifications

  1. Educational Qualifications:
    • Candidates must have completed SSC/Matriculation/10th class examination or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized board.
    • Must possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT recognized by the Government of India.
  2. Technical Qualifications:
    • ITI certificate/National Trade Certificate affiliated with NCVT/SCVT is mandatory in the relevant trades. Below are examples of designated trades:

Age Relaxation:

  1. Applicants whose SSC/Matriculation/10th and ITI results are pending as of the notification date (14/09/2024) are not eligible to apply.
  2. Applicants who have failed in ITI should not apply. If engaged inadvertently, they will be terminated immediately, and any stipend paid will be recovered with interest.
  3. Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible for this apprenticeship, as they are governed by a separate apprenticeship scheme.

Selection Process

  1. Selection Basis:
    • Candidates will be selected based on a merit list calculated from the average percentage of marks obtained in both Matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate) and ITI examinations, giving equal weightage to both.
  2. Shortlisting:
    • Candidates will be shortlisted for document/certificate verification, with the number of candidates being 1.5 times the number of notified vacancies.
  3. Tie-Breaking Criteria:
    • In the event of a tie in marks:
      • Older applicants will be preferred.
      • If birth dates are the same, the applicant who passed the Matriculation exam earlier will be prioritized.
    • No written test or viva will be conducted.
  4. Final Merit List:
    • A final merit list will be prepared unit-wise, trade-wise, and community-wise based on the percentage of marks obtained.
  5. Document Submission:
    • Applicants do not need to send physical copies of applications/certificates to RRC-NCR by post; all documents must be uploaded online.
  6. Calculation of Marks:
    • Matriculation Marks: Total marks of all subjects (not just the best of five) should be entered. CGPA must be converted to actual marks.
    • ITI Marks: Average marks from the consolidated statement of marks for all semesters of the relevant trade should be entered.
    • Discrepancies between marks entered and original certificates will lead to rejection of candidature.
  7. Merit List Issuance:
    • Trade-wise and community-wise merit lists will be issued by NCR for their notified slots. Candidates will be called based on merit and the divisions/workshops they opted for.
    • North Central Railway reserves the right to re-distribute candidates to other divisions/workshops in case of shortfall in any trade.
  8. Final Selection:
    • Final selection is contingent upon verification of original documents and a Medical Fitness Certificate as per Annexure “H”.
  9. Standby List:
    • Candidates on the standby list will receive call letters based on the status of absentees, medically unfit, or rejected candidates from the main merit list.

    • A tentative schedule for document verification will be uploaded on the website www.rrcpryj.org. Candidates are advised to be ready to report at short notice for verification.
