3. RRC WR Recruitment 2024 : Eligibility Criteria
a) RRC WR Recruitment 2024 Educational Qualification as on 20/09/2024.
- Educational Qualifications:
- Applicants must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or its equivalent under the 10+2 examination system, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized board.
- Technical Qualifications:
- Candidates must hold an ITI certificate in the relevant trade, affiliated with either NCVT or SCVT, as listed below:


These qualifications are mandatory, and only candidates meeting both educational and technical requirements will be eligible for the recruitment process.

Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST Applicants: Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.
- OBC Applicants: Upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years.
- Persons with Disability (PWD): Upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years.
Ex-Servicemen:
- Upper age limit is relaxed by an additional 10 years for ex-servicemen, to the extent of service rendered in the Defense Forces plus 3 years, provided they have completed at least 6 months of continuous service.
- Ex-servicemen already employed in Government services on the civil side after availing of their ex-servicemen status are not eligible for the age relaxation.
Additional Notes:
- Results Awaited: Applicants whose SSC/ITI results are still pending as of the notification date are not eligible to apply.
- Failed Applicants: Applicants who have failed in their ITI exams should not apply. If any such candidate is inadvertently selected, they will be terminated immediately without further notice.
- Engineering Graduates & Diploma Holders: Individuals holding engineering degrees or diplomas are not eligible to apply for this apprenticeship, as they fall under a different apprenticeship scheme.

- Selected candidates engaged as apprentices will receive a stipend during their one-year training, at the prescribed rate according to the extant rules set by the concerned State Governments.

6. RRC WR Recruitment 2024 : Selection Process
Selection Process
1. Selection Basis
- Eligible applicants for training under the Apprentice Act, 1961 will be selected based on a merit list. This list will be prepared using the average percentage of marks obtained in both Matriculation (minimum 50% aggregate) and ITI examinations, giving equal weightage to both.
2. Tie-Breaking Criteria
- In cases where two applicants have the same marks:
- Preference will be given to the older applicant.
- If birth dates are the same, the applicant who passed the Matriculation exam earlier will be prioritized.
- No written test or viva will be conducted.
3. Document Submission
- Applicants are not required to send physical copies of applications or certificates to RRC/WR by post; all documents must be uploaded online.
4. Calculation of Marks
- Matriculation Marks:
- Total marks from all subjects (not just the best of five) must be entered.
- CGPA should be converted to actual marks and accurately entered in the application.
- ITI Marks:
- Average marks from the consolidated statement of marks for all semesters of the relevant trade must be entered.
- The Provisional National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT ISCVT will be considered.
- Any discrepancies between marks entered and original certificates will lead to the rejection of the candidature.
5. Merit List Issuance
- Trade-wise and community-wise merit lists will be issued by the concerned Division/Units for their notified slots.
- Candidates will be called based on merit in the relevant trade, considering the divisions/workshops they opted for.
- The Western Railway reserves the right to redistribute candidates to other divisions/workshops in case of shortfalls in any particular trade.
6. Final Selection
- Final selection is contingent upon the verification of original documents and a Medical Fitness Certificate as per Annexure G.
7. Standby List
- Candidates on the standby list will receive call letters based on the status of absentees, medically unfit candidates, or those rejected from the main merit list.
8. Readiness for Verification
- Applicants should be prepared to report at short notice to their allotted divisions and workshops for document and certificate verification.
